Sheriff’s Deputy Alleges DeBartolo Punched Fan
Police want to talk to 49er owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. regarding allegations he punched a fan after Saturday’s NFC playoff game at Lambeau Field, Green Bay police Capt. Bruce Hamilton said.
Michael Heenan, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy attending the game, told The Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wis., on Tuesday that he was “100% sure” he saw DeBartolo punch the fan after the game, knocking him backward over a garbage can.
A large man with DeBartolo butted another fan, Heenan said.
Police in Green Bay said they still were investigating the incident and could not confirm reports by several fans that DeBartolo was involved.
DeBartolo did not immediately return telephone calls left at his Youngstown, Ohio, office.

The woman who claimed she as sexually assaulted at the home of Dallas Cowboy tackle Erik Williams told police that Williams and receiver Michael Irvin used cocaine that night, according to an affidavit.
The woman said that all three of her alleged attackers used cocaine that night, and that at one point, Williams “began snorting cocaine off the bar in the room.”
Irvin is on four years probation for felony drug charges, and upon sentencing him, state district Judge Manny Alvarez told him he would be “looking at 20 years in the penitentiary” if he reappeared in court.
Police had said they had found no evidence of drug use in their search of Williams’ North Dallas home after the alleged attack on Dec. 29. They also say they have found no evidence to link Irvin to the incident, a source told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
