Governor Names Two to New Superior Court Judgeships

Gov. Pete Wilson appointed two local Municipal Court judges Wednesday to fill newly created judgeships in Orange County Superior Court.

The appointees are Gail A. Andler, 39, of Dana Point and David R. Chaffee, 48, of San Juan Capistrano.

Andler has been a judge in the Central District, which is headquartered in Santa Ana, since 1994. Chaffee also has served since 1994, in the Harbor District headquartered in Newport Beach.

Andler and Chaffee are expected to assume their new positions in the next few days.

The judgeships, which pay an annual salary of $107,390, were created six months ago by legislation signed by Wilson.
