Building Resumes on Sports Complex
Barring further natural disasters, construction has resumed on the city’s east side sports complex and should be completed by mid-April, when the city expects to open the complex to the public.
Heavy rain and muddy conditions halted construction of the baseball and soccer fields that sit atop a hill on the eastern side of town.
The 70 acres of land on which the new park is being built was donated to the city by the Catholic Church, which is building a new church and a school next to the park. In return, the city graded the hilly site for construction of the buildings.
