Master’s Gets Degree of Revenge

Kim De Vries scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and The Master’s College defeated Pt. Loma Nazarene, 62-59, in a women’s basketball game Friday night.

Elizabeth Hansell also had 17 points for Master’s (9-7), which avenged a season-opening loss to Pt. Loma.

The Mustangs led by 18 points with 11 minutes left in the game before Pt. Loma rallied.

Master’s made only 32.8% of its shots from the field, but was 22 of 28 from the foul line.

Laura Fralich had eight points, six assists and five steals for the Lady Mustangs, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Amber Cravy had 16 points and 17 rebounds for Pt. Loma (3-9).

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Hart 3, Canyon 0--The Indians (10-1-2) limited the Cowboys (7-3-3) to five shots in a Foothill League opener at Hart.

Keeli Paden, Kellie Nordhagen and Courtney Sherlock scored for the Indians.

Saugus 2, Burroughs 1--Kim Wright scored twice for the Centurions (6-2-1) in a Foothill League opener at Saugus.

Agoura 2, Camarillo 0--Julie Stuart and Sarah Graham scored for the Chargers (9-1, 4-0), and Sarah Landis recorded her seventh shutout of the season in a Marmonte League match at Agoura.

Notre Dame 2, Alemany 0--Melissa Rubey scored in the 10th minute and Katie Carlin scored in the 36th minute for the Knights (7-7, 1-2) in a Mission League match at Notre Dame.

Sarah Johnson recorded her sixth shutout with six saves.

Calabasas 2, Nordhoff 0--Katie Young and Sophie Perazzo scored for the Coyotes (2-4-1) in a Frontier League opener at Calabasas.

Jessica Armacost had assists on both goals, and Kelly Cheever made four saves in her third shutout of the season.

Simi Valley 1, Newbury Park 0--Anna Wolleck scored for the Pioneers (5-5-1, 2-2-0) in a Marmonte League match with the Panthers (3-6-1, 1-2-1).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Notre Dame 2, Alemany 1--Pat Thomsen and Niko Gutrugianios scored for the Knights (6-5, 2-1) in a Mission League match.

Calabasas 4, Nordhoff 1--Aslan Appleman scored three goals for the Coyotes (5-2-2) in a Frontier League opener at Nordhoff.
