Israeli Official to Address Model U.N.
The Israeli consul general to the United Nations and an FBI agent will help to kick off a three-day Model United Nations conference Friday as more than 1,500 students from 28 California high schools gather at Mission Viejo High School for the annual event.
The three-day session gives high school students an opportunity to examine international affairs and address world issues while exercising their diplomatic, compromise and debate skills.
Friday’s keynote speech will be delivered by FBI special agent Richard J. Haidle.
In the evening, Sam Schwartz, the U.N. consul general from Israel, will talk with students on the Middle East and terrorism committees.
The event is free and open to the public.
It runs from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Mission Viejo High, 25025 Chrisanta Drive.
