Following Path of Eva Peron
A Newhall-based company called Path Tours hopes that “Evita” movie hype will translate into takers for its new “Pathways of Evita” tour, a five-day package to Buenos Aires that visits sites linked to the life of Gen. Juan D. Peron’s controversial second wife, Eva (Evita) Peron, who died in 1952 at age 33.
Among the sites are her tomb, the hall where she and the late Argentine president first met, the first home she received as a present and the Ministry of Public Works, where Madonna sings “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” in the film. The cost, including air fare from Los Angeles, hotel, tour and daily breakfast, is $1,449 plus departure taxes. Information: (805) 255-2740.
