Tax Preparation Help Available From CSUN

Low-income individuals and families may receive free state and federal tax preparation assistance from Cal State Northridge business students beginning Feb. 1.

Students from the university’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or VITA, will work with families and individuals, including seniors, non-English speakers and the disabled, whose gross annual income does not exceed $40,000.

Participants are asked to bring tax forms, W-2 forms, interest and dividend statements, receipts and records for deductions, as well as a copy of last year’s tax returns.

The service will be available at several locations throughout the San Fernando Valley through April 13. Appointments are not necessary, but those who need assistance must call for times at (818) 677-4519.

The following is a list of days, dates and locations where members of VITA will be available:

* Cal State Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St.; Wednesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 5 though April 10.

* Field Office of Councilwoman Laura Chick, 19040 Vanowen St., Reseda; Tuesdays from Feb. 4 through April 8.

* Panoroma Mall, 8401 Van Nuys Blvd., Panorama City; Saturdays and Sundays from Feb. 1 through April 13.

* St. Marks Episcopal Church, 14646 Sherman Way, Van Nuys; Fridays from Feb. 7 through April 11.

* Van Nuys Federal Building, 6230 Van Nuys Blvd.; Fridays from Feb. 7 through April 11.

* Pacoima Library, 13605 Van Nuys Blvd.; Saturdays from Feb. 1 through April 12.

* Santa Rosa Center, 511 Kalisher St., San Fernando; Saturdays from Feb. 1, through April 12.

* Sylmar Library, 13059 Glenoaks Blvd.; Wednesdays from Feb. 5 through April 9.

* North Hollywood Regional Park, 11430 Chandler Blvd.; Thursdays from Feb. 6 through April 10.
