No. 8 Brea Olinda Knocks Off Valencia
In a meeting of two unbeaten Orange League teams, Amanda Manton scored off Tennli Ulicny’s assist in the 30th minute to give eighth-ranked Brea Olinda a 1-0 victory over Valencia Tuesday.
Megan Pickering had six saves to anchor Brea Olinda’s defense, which posted its ninth shutout. The Wildcats improved to 15-3-1, 3-0. Valencia is 7-2-4, 2-1.

Magnolia 4, Savanna 2--Magnolia trailed, 2-1, at the half, but Katie Young scored consecutive goals for the Sentinels (3-11, 1-2).
In the Century League:
El Modena 4, Canyon 1--El Modena scored four goals in the first half. Kerry Andersen scored two goals and Krystan Jones and Vicki Bloom had one each for the first-place Vanguards (10-6-2, 4-0).
Foothill 4, Santa Ana Valley 0--Kristi Brittingham scored two goals for Foothill (7-5-2, 3-1). Shannon Harrelson, who scored Foothill’s first goal, assisted on both of Brittingham’s goals.
Orange 1, Villa Park 1--Christine Mendez scored on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute for Villa Park (8-4-1, 2-1-1). Orange (4-7-3, 0-3-1) got 24 saves from Joann Van Der Putten. Freshman Staci Gonzalez scored her sixth goal for Orange.
In the Empire League:
Cypress 5, Katella 0--Tiffany Dinoso scored three goals for Cypress (12-3-2, 3-0). Kinsey Ross had 17 saves for Katella (6-4-2, 1-2).
El Dorado 6, Century 0--Mandy Goodman had two goals and Jen Kennedy had two assists for visiting El Dorado (10-6, 2-1), which has scored 15 goals in the past two games.
Kennedy 8, Loara 0--Michelle Maitland scored four goals for Kennedy (11-5, 2-1). She has 12 this season.
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 2, Los Amigos 1--Julie Servin scored the winner on a free kick with three minutes left. Katie Favello tied the score for Garden Grove (5-4-2, 3-0-1) late in the first half.
In the Golden West League:
Rosary 2, Santa Ana 0--Melissa Curry and Shauna Rech each scored goals for Rosary (6-8-2, 3-0-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 4, Laguna Beach 0--Stacy Roberts scored three goals for host Laguna Hills (11-6, 3-0).
In the Sea View League:
El Toro 2, Corona del Mar 0--Melissa Dipple and Laura Davis each scored first-half goals for the Chargers (10-4-4, 2-0-2), ranked ninth in the county. Goalie Melody Derloshon had fives saves to post the shutout for El Toro, which has allowed only 17 goals this season.
Woodbridge 1, Santa Margarita 1--Petra Slavin deflected a free kick to tie the score in the final minute for third-ranked Santa Margarita (8-1-3, 2-0-2). Woodbridge (9-7-3, 1-2-1) took the second-half lead on a goal by Katie Ogden.
