Stremick Commits to Oregon State
Nick Stremick, quarterback of Division I champion Mater Dei, has orally committed to attend Oregon State, he said Sunday.
Stremick, 18, who returned home Sunday from a recruiting trip to Corvallis, had also considered attending Connecticut, Villanova and Utah State. He can sign a letter of intent on Feb. 5.
“I’m very excited,” Stremick said. “They are building a new football facility, which will open next year, and they have a new coaching staff that will be running some of the same type things we did at Mater Dei.”
In piloting the 14-0 Monarchs to their second section title in the past three years, Stremick completed 139 of 243 passes (57.2%) for 2,376 yards, 27 touchdowns and had only eight interceptions.
His season achievements earned Stremick first-team All-South Coast League honors.
