Volunteers / Helping hands
Donations of wheelchairs, canes, bath seats and other long-term-use medical equipment are being sought by the Cypress Senior Center, which lends items at no charge to individuals.
Equipment can be donated from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The center is at 9031 Grindlay St.

STANTON
What: Home Meal Delivery
Where: Stanton Community Services Department, 7800 Katella Ave.
Mission: To assist in delivering hot meals to homebound senior citizens for at least two hours a week. Assistance is needed on an ongoing basis, with openings on Mondays and Thursdays. Deliveries are made from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and mileage reimbursement is offered.

COUNTYWIDE
What: American Cancer Society HelpLine
Where: HelpLine InfoCenter, 1940 E. Deere Ave., Suite 100, Santa Ana
Mission: To answer questions from callers about public education programs, smoking cessation, prostate cancer and other topics. A training class for volunteers is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

What: Todos Hermanos
Mission: To help schoolchildren develop plans for the future. The program aims to deter children from joining gangs and using drugs by bonding with mentors from various professions.
