King update--The Kings were routed, 7-2, at Dallas on Monday and are making their first visit to Denver to play the Avalanche this season. The teams have split two games at the Forum. The Kings won the first game, 4-2, behind former Avalanche goalie Stephane Fiset, who stopped 28 of 30 shots before leaving in the third period because of dehydration. Colorado defeated Fiset and the Kings, 5-2, in the second game. With two goals against Dallas, left wing Kevin Stevens has scored six of his 10 goals in his last nine games.
Avalanche update--Despite playing without injured all-stars Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg and Patrick Roy for much of its recent five-game trip, the Avalanche won three games--over Pittsburgh, Florida and Toronto.
