CardioVascular Dynamics Inc.: The Irvine catheter company said it lost $4.6 million, or 65 cents a share, for 1996, compared with a net loss of $2.9 million, or 65 cents a share, for 1995. Revenue more than doubled to $8.7 million from $4.1 million.

The company reported a net loss for the fourth quarter of $2.8 million, or 30 cents a share, which included a one-time charge of $2.1 million for acquired in-process research and development associated with the acquisition of Intraluminal Devices Inc. That compares with a net loss of $597,000, or 14 cents a share, for the 1995 fourth quarter. Revenue advanced 92% to $2.5 million from $1.3 million.
