Fans Ignoring a Good Show at Harvard-Westlake

The past two seasons I’ve taken my son to see the Harvard-Westlake High boys’ basketball team play. Looking around at the empty seats--there aren’t more than 100 spectators on any given night--I can’t help but feel sorry for the players and their coaches.

The team is ranked No. 1 in the state and is in the top 10 of most national polls. Last year Harvard-Westlake was state Division III champion. It plays an exciting game of basketball featuring two of the top players in the state. The tickets are cheap, the environment is friendly and still nobody comes to the games.

Actually, I shouldn’t feel bad for the players. It’s basketball fans who are missing out.
