What Are You Drinking?
I just had a bottle of the ’93 Giacomo Bologna Barbera from his Bricco dell’ Uccellone vineyard. Bologna visited us many years ago before he’d opened his winery. I didn’t know it at the time, but he said later that visiting Ridge and Mondavi were the two most important events in his opening his winery. So it was a real treat to be able to sit down and just be blown away by the sensuous quality of this Barbera. It was a very nice completion of a circle for me.
