Laker update--The availability of Elden Campbell and Travis Knight will not be known until today as the Lakers face the possibility of going into the second night of a back-to-back with only nine players. Knight said after Tuesday’s win at Seattle that his sprained right knee was feeling better, but that could change when swelling and stiffness have a chance to set in. Campbell, however, was clearly bothered by his bruised right buttocks, needing help from Coach Del Harris to get his slacks on.
Nugget update--Not only have they lost the first three meetings with the Lakers, but the Nuggets have given up 104, 132 and 113 points in the process without the benefit of overtime. Another defeat tonight means Denver will have been swept in the season series for the first time in six years. Dick Motta needs four victories in the final 10 games to tie Red Auerbach for second place on the all-time coaching win list.
