Ice Dogs Win Playoff Opener, 6-5

Valeri Karpov scored two third-period goals and Rob Kenny added one as the Ice Dogs defeated the Milwaukee Admirals, 6-5, in their IHL playoff opener at the Long Beach Arena.

Milwaukee took a 5-4 lead on goals by Steve Tuttle and Brad Layzell, but then Karpov tied the score with his second goal and Kenny’s goal followed.

“We did a heck of a job coming back,” said Ice Dog Coach John Van Boxmeer.
