‘Miami Rhapsody’
This 1995 comedy about marital jitters is full of funny performers, beautiful Miami scenery and classic pop tunes but it keeps reminding you of Woody Allen, Neil Simon and a barrage of TV sitcoms. Sarah Jessica Parker (left, pictured with Naomi Campbell) plays a frizzy-haired neurotic who has a commitment problem and whose relatives are awash with marital woes. Her mother (Mia Farrow), turns out to be carrying on with her grandmother’s male nurse, a Cuban smoothie played by--who else?--Antonio Banderas. Her father (Paul Mazursky, in a fine, wry turn), who suspects his wife’s affair, is doing some dallying of his own (Showtime Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. and 5:50 p.m.).
