* UPDATE--The Dodgers altered their lineup Tuesday night, hoping to end their offensive doldrums. They have gone back to their lineup of a year ago, moving Mike Piazza to from cleanup to third, Eric Karros from fifth to cleanup and Raul Mondesi from third to fifth. They also flip-flopped Wilton Guerrero and Greg Gagne, moving Gagne to second and Guerrero to eighth. Gagne was batting .500 (15 for 30) with three runs, a double, triple and four runs batted in in the last seven games before Tuesday’s. The Dodgers hope the revamped lineup will jump-start Karros. He batted only .189 as the No. 5 hitter with two RBIs in 53 at-bats. Ramon Martinez is 7-4 with a 2.23 ERA against the Cardinals. St. Louis second baseman Delino DeShields returned to Dodger Stadium as an opposing player Tuesday for the first time in four years. DeShields has a .335 career batting average against the Dodgers, higher than against any other team in the league. Todd Stottlemyre hasn’t caught any breaks this season. The Cardinals have scored only nine runs for him in his four starts. Stottlemyre is 0-1 with a 4.60 ERA in three starts against the Dodgers.
