Volunteers Sought to Maintain Trail
Volunteers looking for fresh air and exercise can help celebrate California Trails Day on Saturday by helping maintain the popular Pratt Trail in Los Padres National Forest.
The heavily used, 4.2-mile-long trail runs from a day-use parking lot off Signal Road in Ojai to scenic Nordhoff Ridge.
Volunteers should meet at 8 a.m. at the Ojai Ranger Station, 1190 E. Ojai Ave. Carpools will shuttle workers to the project site.
The Forest Service will provide a limited number of tools, but volunteers are asked to bring their own small pruning saws and picks, if possible. They should also bring water, lunch and sunscreen and wear work clothes.
Volunteers under 18 must bring a signed letter of permission from their parents.
For more information on the project, call 646-4348.
