A ski resort employee involved in a deadly collision on the slopes of Vail faces criminal charges in a beginner skier’s death. Nathan Hall, 18, a ski racer in high school, had just finished work as a lift operator April 20 and was headed down one of the mountain’s main slopes when he collided with Alan Cobb, 33, who was working his way down the intermediate trail with his fiancee. It was Cobb’s fourth time on skis. Witnesses said Hall was going too fast and appeared to be skiing recklessly, said Eagle County Sheriff’s Detective Mike McWilliam. Prosecutors are considering charging Hall with manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide.
