Northern Maine residents dug out Tuesday from a late-season storm that left some communities with more than 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. National Weather Service forecasters said 7.6 inches fell in Caribou, and up to 9.5 inches fell on hilltop areas of neighboring Presque Isle. The storm caused scattered power outages, but no major traffic accidents were reported.
