Playing With Kid Gloves

Manager Rick Burleson, a former Gold Glove shortstop who prides himself on his ability to coach defense, has been proven right about the JetHawks’ glove work.

Much to his chagrin.

“That was my concern out of spring training and unfortunately it has lived up to its billing as shaky,” Burleson said. “It’s not just the errors, but the plays that we aren’t making that end up as hits. Those go unnoticed in the box score.”

The JetHawks have 34 errors in 25 games, leading to 21 unearned runs.
