Dry, Warm Weather Settles in for Week

The weather has settled into a slightly drier and warmer than normal pattern that is predicted to continue for San Fernando Valley residents this week.

“It’ll be a pretty boring week as far as the weather is concerned,” said Bruce Rockwell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

A warm mass of stagnant air hovering over the region pushed temperatures into the 90s Sunday, but highs should return to the 80s by Tuesday as a weak low-pressure system moves into the area. No rain, storms or other unusual activity are in sight for the Los Angeles region.

“It’s that time of year,” Rockwell said. “Usually most of our weather comes between October and April. Basically we’re in a summer pattern now.”

Although there will be some late-night and early-morning low clouds and fog, it will not be prominent enough to be considered an early appearance of “June gloom.” That period is still weeks away, Rockwell said.

High temperatures today will be 86 in Woodland Hills and 82 in Burbank.
