The City Council has authorized a $10,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men who robbed a Western Financial Bank branch, killing teller Monica Lynne Leech.

Council members voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the reward, part of an overall $160,000 reward being offered for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.

“You will not make any of us any happier than when you come back with . . . an arrest,” Mayor Judy Lazar told Sheriff’s Cmdr. Kathy Kemp, who serves as the Thousand Oaks police chief.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are pursuing numerous leads in the case.

The suspects, who were wearing yellow coats and hard hats during the robbery, are described as about 5 feet, 11 inches, with medium builds. One man was described as white or Latino, and the other as dark-skinned or African American, authorities say.

They were seen leaving the bank in a white sport utility vehicle.
