Irvine Valley College will allow the public to pick oranges from its groves this weekend.

The college opens its groves to the public once a year to raise money for student clubs. Oranges cost 15 cents a pound.

The groves will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Participants should bring their own bags or containers to collect the fruit.

Although the college has about 4,500 orange trees scattered throughout its 100-acre campus, picking is only permitted from trees located in the grove at Jeffrey Road and Irvine Center Drive. Information: (714) 451-5260.
