Parents should be on their guard against a teenage couple who have attempted to kidnap at least three, and possibly more, small boys in the Castaic area since January, authorities warned Friday.

The suspects have been described as a white male about 18, with brown hair in a flattop cut and a white female--also about 18--with long brown hair, driving a 1995, four-door, navy-blue Honda with small tires, according to authorities.

“We want all parents to watch their children and immediately report suspicious activity to us,” said. Lt. Tim Peters of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Santa Clarita station.

The first incident occurred Jan. 24 at about 3:30 p.m. when two boys walking home from the bus stop near Heather Lane and Meadowgrass Drive were approached by the duo, Peters said.

The second attempt occurred on Feb. 1--also at about 3:30 p.m.-- when another boy was approached as he was getting mail at his home on Greenwood Place.

In both cases, the couple pulled up alongside the boys and told them their mothers had been taken to a hospital ill, and they had sent the couple to bring the children to them, Peters said. In both cases, the children ran away and were not harmed, he said.

Recently, residents of the Castaic area have circulated fliers noting two additional cases that were reported to school officials but not the Sheriff’s Department, Peters said. Those two cases reportedly occurred at the corner of Parker Street and Karena Avenue on Hillcrest Parkway, authorities said.

He urged residents to report all such incidents to law enforcement officials.

“If a crime has taken place, we should be contacted,” Peters said.
