WOMEN COMMEMORATED: A special prayer service in celebration of all women will be given to commemorate Mother’s Day as well as “feminine wisdom, creativity and blessings that bring life.” The special “Celebrating Women! EASTERN CATHOLICISM: The East San Fernando District of the Los Angeles Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women will hold its final meeting of the year, featuring the Rev. John Azar, who will discuss the background and architecture of the Eastern Catholic Churches. DISCUSSING SEX: A special-education family outreach program for parents titled “How to Talk Confidently with Your Child About Sex” will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shepherd of the Valley, 23838 Kittridge St., West Hills. FOUR RELIGIONS: The similarities and differences of Judaism, Islam, Catholicism and Protestantism will be discussed by four theologians. Rabbi Perry Netter of Temple Beth Am, Los Angeles; Dr. Maher M. Hathout, spokesman for the Islamic Center of Southern California; Father Gregory Coiro, director of media relations for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles; and the Rev. Kapp L. Johnson, senior pastor of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Granada Hills, will present this lecture and address political and social issues and the conflicts between church and state.
