If You Missed It, It Was a Great Meet

I have long considered The Times my prime source of track and field information. But, after Sunday’s non-coverage of the USC-UCLA-BYU dual-triangular meet, I wonder.

Of course, there were a few lines in Newswire. But this is the first time in my memory that The Times has failed to carry a complete story on a USC-UCLA meet.

This meet was the best of its kind in the area this season. Excellent performances by all schools. And the Trojans gave the Bruins a run for a change, even winning the triangular scoring. Certainly, it was deserving of better coverage.

I realize that the new baseball format takes space. But must college sports continue to play a diminishing role on your pages?
