Inmate Escapes From Pitchess Jail

Authorities were searching late Saturday for an escapee from the Pitchess Detention Center.
The suspect was identified as Robert Carrasco, 40, said Deputy Benita Nichol, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Carrasco escaped from the North County Correctional Facility at about 7:15 p.m., according to authorities. Deputies were searching in the immediate area around the jail.
There was no immediate information about Carrasco’s criminal background nor details about the search, Nichol said.
