NOT REMINISCENT OF INDIAN STYLES

The April 20 Style piece on Indian-”inspired” fashion designs looked like something out of Cirque du Soleil (“All the Raj”). They were not stylish, nor did they, in any sense, remind me of the saris and salwaar kameez in my mother’s closet. The “clothes” pictured were garish and only fit to be used as rags for housecleaning. It just seemed like an attempt by Westerners to completely distort all that is beautiful, colorful and elegant about India.
