PREP BASEBALL / SOUTHERN SECTION CHAMPIONSHIPS
Anaheim Canyon 4, Lakewood Artesia 0--Jeff Leuenberger won his second consecutive title game, this time pitching a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Comanches (25-6) defeated Artesia (23-6) in the Division III final.
Leuenberger (11-1) had pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 5-1 victory over Upland in the Division II final last season.
Tommy Duarte drove in Canyon’s first run with a ground out in the first.
Canyon scored three more times in the fourth following three consecutive doubles by Duarte, Mike Tomarelli and Brandon Smith, and a fielding error by right fielder Joe Hall.
