Lawyers representing the families of victims killed in last summer’s crash of TWA Flight 800 urged a federal judge to order the National Transportation and Safety Board to give them access to the plane’s wreckage. New York lawyer Lee Kreindler told U.S. District Judge Robert Sweet that the lawyers and their investigators want an opportunity to view and photograph the wreckage stored at a hangar in Calverton, N.Y. Sweet made no ruling following the closed session. The tragedy occurred July 17 when the Paris-bound Boeing 747 exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. All 230 on board were killed.
