A Weekend Enjoyed by Two
“Batman & Robin” turned in the seventh highest three-day non-holiday opening. “My Best Friend’s Wedding” had the best opening gross of any Julia Roberts picture and beat out “Sleepless in Seattle” ($17.3 million) for the best romantic comedy debut ever.
“Hercules” had by far the highest per screen average, but seats for the movie and stage show cost $15 to $55 in Manhattan.
