St. John’s Regional Medical Center is offering low-cost child immunizations through July in Camarillo and Oxnard.

Vaccinations include tetanus, mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, hepatitis B and hemophilus influenza type B.

The cost is $5 per child, regardless of how many vaccinations the child receives. The family maximum is $15, no matter how many children in each immediate family receive shots.

“Each year, only 63% of Ventura County children are properly vaccinated,” said Rita Schumacher, a spokeswoman for St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

St. John’s hopes that at least 90% of the county’s children will be properly vaccinated against life-threatening diseases by 2000, Schumacher said.

Children through age 18 can receive vaccinations with a parent or legal guardian present. Bring immunization cards to record the new vaccinations and inform medical staff of vaccinations already received.
