With the Splash down by one goal going into the final quarter Friday against the Indiana Twisters, it looked as if there might be a Splash comeback. But a Twisters flurry in the fourth quarter pounded the Splash with four goals for a 7-3 victory in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis.

The Twisters’ Scott Lawler scored first at the 11-minute 52-second mark. But the Splash came back three minutes later on a Matt Davis goal, on which Dale Ervine assisted.

Mirko Castillo scored in the second quarter and John Sand in the third for the Twisters. But Bernie Lilavois kept it close for the Splash with a third-quarter goal.

But things fell apart for the Splash early on in the fourth quarter, when Lawler scored his second goal, followed by goals by teammates Jose Londono, Sand and Jose Luis Rojano.

Lilavois, on an assist by Davis, scored the Splash’s final goal.

Ruben Fernandez had 11 saves for the Splash (1-2). John Kluba had eight saves for the Twisters (2-2).
