From Times Wire Reports

Homosexuals and their supporters marched through Paris to commemorate riots in New York nearly 30 years ago that galvanized the gay rights movement. About 200,000 people from across Europe danced and chanted their way through the streets in the country’s biggest gay rally ever. Colorful floats, representing gay and lesbian groups from Spain to Denmark, took part. Similar marches also took place in Berlin, Mexico City and Toronto. The celebrations commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York, which led to the modern gay rights movement.
