Charity Golf Tournament Accepts Entries

Entries are being accepted for the first Calabasas Motor Cars Celebrity golf tournament, which is set for a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calabasas Country Club.

Among the celebrities expected to be on hand are television personalities Robert Stack, Chuck Woolery, Alan Thicke and Cathy Lee Crosby.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Los Angeles chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which fulfills wishes of children through the age of 18 who are suffering from a terminal or life-threatening illness.

Cost is $225 a person or $800 per foursome and includes cocktails, dinner and a reception after play has ended.

BASKETBALL

The Conejo Youth Basketball Camp for girls seventh grade and above will run July 7-11 at Thousand Oaks High.

SOCCER

Sign-ups are being taken by the Adult Soccer League Simi Valley.

Men’s over-30 and over-40 teams, as well as women’s B and C divisions are being formed. All men’s divisions and the women’s B Division are competitive, and the women’s C Division is recreational.

GOLF

The Westlake Village Sunrise Rotary golf tournament is scheduled for Aug. 11 at North Ranch County Club in Westlake Village.

The 11th annual charity event will begin with open registration and a continental breakfast at 10 a.m., with play beginning at 11:30 a.m. The day also will include a dinner buffet and silent and live auctions.

VOLLEYBALL

The Southern California Volleyball Officials Assn.’s San Fernando Valley unit is registering new officials though July 22, with training classes scheduled from July 22 through Sept. 29.

Those who pass the training will be eligible for assignment to high school matches in the San Fernando Valley area.
