Ayala benefited from cross-count diagonal passes that consistently broke the Crescenta Valley full-court press and led to several open three-point attempts.

Crescenta Valley was missing three starters. Laura Zerebko was sidelined with mononucleosis, while Sinnamonn Garrett and Heather Nefas are attending a non-basketball related camp in Colorado.

“We didn’t lose this game because we lacked players, we didn’t lose because we lacked desire, we didn’t lose because we lacked intensity,” Falcon Coach Damian Scribner said. “We lost because they made threes.”

The Falcons then went on a 14-3 run to close the gap to 54-50 with just over two minutes left in the game.
