The Piranhas lost to the host Texas Terror, 60-56, to end their 1997 season with the Arena Football League’s worst record.

The Piranhas held a slight lead at the start of the fourth quarter at the Summit in Houston, but Texas quarterback Clint Dolezel’s 42-yard touchdown pass to Lloyd Hill a little more than two minutes into the quarter put his team up, 50-43.

Hill scored again on a 47-yard run later the quarter to make it 57-43.

Anaheim came back when quarterback James Guidry passed to Shannon Culver for a 28-yard touchdown with 1 minute 58 seconds left.

But Richard Defelice’s 31-yard field goal with 56 seconds left put the game out of reach.

The Piranhas’ Guidry completed 29 of 43 passes for 383 yards and six touchdowns.

Terror quarterback Dolezel, who set an Arena League record last week against Iowa when he completed 34 of 43 passes for 449 yards, completed 21 of 32 passes for 321 yards.

Anaheim finished the season 2-12. The Terror is 6-8.
