View Tech Reports 36% Rise in Quarter Revenues

View Tech in Camarillo announced $12.22 million in revenues for the second quarter ended June 30, a 36% increase over the $8.96 million in the same period in 1996.

Product sales and service revenues increased 37%, while agency commissions increased 35% over the prior period. The company generated net income of $176,892, or 3 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $171,672, or 3 cents per share, for the same period in 1996.

Company officials said strong revenues in communications technology and videoconferencing solutions were responsible for the turnaround quarter. This area of the business is expected to continue growing as demand increases for these services in the mid-size business market, officials said.

The recent acquisition of USTeleCenters in Boston has provided significant geographic and product line expansion for the company. View Tech plans to continue to move toward nationwide coverage and complete product-line offerings.

The company has equipment distribution partnerships with PictureTel Corp., Ascend Communications and Northern Telecom. It markets network services through agency agreements with Bell Atlantic, GTE, NYNEX, Southwestern Bell and Sprint.
