$114,116 Grant to Aid Students on Welfare
The California Community College Chancellor’s Office recently awarded Orange Coast College $114,116 to assist students on welfare.
Transitional assistance to needy families can be used by the college to support a broad range of instructional and support services. The funding also can be used to redesign curriculum, provide special classes and job preparation, counseling, career assessment, equipment and academic planning.
About 997 of the college’s 25,000 students receive welfare.
