Police Probe Apparent Attack on City Official
Alhambra police continue to investigate an incident in which the rear window of the city personnel director’s car was shattered as he sat in the vehicle after a late-night termination hearing, officials said.
The window was blown out shortly before midnight last Tuesday in a city parking lot after Personnel Director Richard Bacio attended a Civil Service Review Commission session, City Manager Julio Fuentes said.
Officials do not know if a gunshot or other projectile struck the window.
“We have got a situation where Richard’s window was broken out,” Fuentes said. “It could have been a BB, a slingshot or a rock. We are not jumping to any conclusions before the investigation is complete.”
Bacio is involved in all disciplinary actions and dismissals. City officials declined to name the employee involved in the termination hearing that night.
