Education: Morehouse College in Atlanta, 1967, bachelor’s degree in mathematics; Purdue University, 1971, master’s degree in computer science.

Experience: Chief executive officer, National Restaurant Assn., since December; CEO and president, Godfather’s Pizza Inc., 1986-96; chairman, Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, Mo., 1995-96; regional manager for Burger King, 1982-1986; vice president of corporate systems, Pillsbury Co., 1977-82.

Politics: Republican. Campaigned for the Dole-Kemp ticket during last year’s White House race. Served on the federal Economic Growth and Tax Reform Commission.
