Woman Killed in U-Turn Crash
A 20-year-old woman was killed Wednesday night when her car crashed into another as she made a U-turn near Sherman Oaks Fashion Square.
The woman, whose name was not available, was attempting to make a U-turn while driving west on Riverside Drive near Woodman Avenue when she collided with a car in an adjacent lane about 8:55 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Bill Mulvihill.
Firefighters extricated the woman, who was trapped in the wreckage, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. She was pronounced dead at Sherman Oaks Hospital and Health Center.
The driver of the other car, an adult male, was taken to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys with minor injuries, Humphrey said. No further information was available.
