An early morning fire Wednesday destroyed some equipment at Disneyland in an area that was under construction and closed off to guests, a park spokesman said.

The blaze erupted on machinery on a ramp that once transported guests to Space Mountain. Nobody was injured in the blaze, said spokesman John McClintock.

Some areas of the park’s Tomorrowland area have been closed for construction and demolition for several weeks, McClintock said.

Fire officials did not know the cause of the blaze, which erupted at 7:43 a.m., McClintock said.

The theme park’s gates opened as usual at 8 a.m., McClintock said.
