Scholarships Available for Silverado Winners

Scholarships are available to winners of the Miss Silverado contest this fall, but contestants must apply by Tuesday.

The winner will represent the city for a year.

Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 25 and live, work or attend school in Buena Park. They also must be available for appearances for most of October.

The winner, who will be selected Oct. 11 by Soroptimists International, will receive a $500 scholarship. Two “princesses” will each receive $100 scholarships.

Applications can be picked up at Adobe Printing, 7892 La Palma Ave.; Smith & Son Glass, 7521 Orangethorpe Ave.; the Chamber of Commerce, 6280 Manchester Blvd.; or the city clerk’s office, 6650 Beach Blvd.
