ChromaVision Medical Systems Inc.: The San Juan Capistrano developer of medical imaging technologies said it lost $2 million, or 16 cents a share, for the second quarter, compared with a loss of $323,602, or 3 cents a share, for the comparable period in 1996. The company’s six-month loss totaled $3.4 million, or 27 cents a share, compared with a loss of $700,759 for like 1996 period. No revenue was reported. The company was incorporated on March 28, 1996, and completed its initial public offering on Aug. 13. The company attributed the higher net losses primarily to relocation costs incurred in moving to California, the increase in the number of management and administrative personnel necessary to support growth and increased expenditures for research and development related to clinical trial costs for prenatal screening for Down’s syndrome and cancer.
