ARV Assisted Living Inc.: The Costa Mesa operator of assisted living facilities reported a loss of $801,000, or 8 cents a share, for its fiscal 1998 first quarter ended June 30. That compares with a net loss of $135,000, or 1 cent a share, for the first quarter of the prior year, which included an extraordinary charge of $251,000 for the early extinguishing of debt. Revenue was up 79% to $27.4 million from $15.3 million.
