Endocare Inc.: The Irvine medical device maker reported a second-quarter loss of $1 million, or 13 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $395,000, or 7 cents a share. revenue for the three months of $250,000 was down 40% from $420,000. For the first half, the company lost $1.8 million, or 23 cents a share, compared with a loss of $972,000 or 17 cents a share in the first half of 1996. Revenue of $930,000 for the first six months was up almost 18% from $790,000. Endocare develops, makes and markets medical devices with a focus on surgical devices for the treatment of prostate disease.
