Busiest Freeway: To the motorists who drive it, the Ventura Freeway passing through Sherman Oaks probably feels like California’s busiest freeway. It’s not. That honor, or at least title, goes to the San Diego Freeway south of Santa Monica Boulevard, which carries 331,000 vehicles a day. So said Caltrans on Thursday. The Ventura Freeway ranks fourth-busiest in the state, with 321,000 vehicles a day.
